Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why should I get involved?

There are so many great reasons to get involved with the peer-to-peer caravan rental market, and the current state of the market has boosted the rental industry to unbelievable heights. As everyone knows, Australia currently has a huge housing shortage. There aren’t enough rentals on the market, and sale prices are climbing and climbing, pricing people out of the market. That means more and more people have been turning to caravans as a comfortable, homely and affordable way to live in the interim, leading to huge growth around long term rentals (6 months and upwards). In addition to this, many couples and families that were considering purchasing a caravan for personal use, have opted to save money instead, and rather than purchase a new caravan they rent through peer-to-peer services.

What are the expected realistic returns?

As part of your due diligence, we suggest you check the rates that others are charging in your area for similar caravans, as prices can vary depending on the location and features of your caravan.
It is common to see short term rental prices of $100-$200 per day, and long term rental prices of $300-$400 per week.

What does it cost?

Brand new caravans vary widely in price, depending on the make, features, layout and specifications of the van. We believe, and have seen that generous returns can be generated from a caravan with an investment price of $55,000-$75,000. This would translate to roughly $200-$270 weekly repayments for a purchase through finance. Easily offset by the rental price of a caravan, which means your caravan can pay for itself, and even put a bit extra in your pocket depending on how often it is hired out.

What is the best caravan for maximum returns?

The simple answer for this, is the caravan the market wants at the time. Caravans come in various sizes and layouts, some caravans are designed to cater to 2 people, while others can cater to a family of 4-5 persons (i.e. with 2 or 3 children). Some things to consider are the demographic in the area you plan on leasing your caravan out. For example, if you are in a location where young families travel on holiday, or predominantly reside in, it would make sense to consider vans with two or three bunks. However, if you live in an area where large concentration of retirees resides, it is strongly recommended to consider caravans with a luxurious ensuite, inclusive of a queen size bed and a full-size kitchen and lounge.

On top of this, you should also consider own personal preference and potential caravan and camping needs, if you eventually decide to travel in your investment and explore this great country of ours!
